This study is a case study that examined the changes in psychological recovery by providing art therapy to the women who has been victim of domestic violence. The subject of the study is a 59-years-old woman lived in a shelter due to constant physical and verbal abuse from her husband. Art therapy was conducted from October 24, 2022 to January 20, 2023, for 13 sessions of 60 minutes once a week. In order to investigate the changes in the research subjects through art therapy, both pre- and post-test of Draw-A-Person (DAP) examinations was conducted, the treatment process was observed, and treatment journals, verbatim records, and activity works were collected as research data. After the collected data were analyzed, the theme was selected as self-esteem and self-determination. Then, the process of change was analyzed in content. The results of the study are as follows. First, the subject of the study showed that self-esteem and self-determination were improved through the process of art therapy, which means the subject was psychologically recovered. Second, aggression and anxiety were shown in the pre-test of DAP. Instead, stability and self-confidence were observed in the post-test of DAP; which showed a positive change in the psychological recovery of the study subject. Based on the results of this study, the significance and limitations of this study were discussed.
